14 Jun Orca Tech strikes Aussie agreement with Big Switch Networks
Data centre networking vendor Big Switch Networks has appointed Orca Tech as its new value added distributor in Australia.
The Sydney-based distributor, which specialises in cyber security and analytics, will distribute Big Switch’s next-generation network packet broker Big Monitoring Fabric, and data centre switching fabric Big Cloud Fabric.
“We see Big Switch as a natural extension to our portfolio as its solutions complement our current vendor line up in many ways,” Orca Tech general manager Craig Ashwood said. “Our partners are seeking comprehensive solutions to differentiate their offerings and Big Switch helps meet this requirement.
“A key example is the partnership between Big Switch and ExtraHop to provide pervasive monitoring and unparalleled visibility into all network activity more cost effectively,” Ashwood said.
Orca Tech announced in February a distribution agreement with ExtraHop, with the deal seeing Orca Tech offer ExtraHop’s solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
In April, Orca Tech was appointed cloud security provider Bitglass’ first national distributor. Later in the month, a new agreement was signed, this time with cyber security awareness training provider Cyber Risk Aware, which saw Orca Tech focus on partner recruitment with local resellers and managed service partners, while providing lead generation to drive sales for its partners.
Orca Tech will help drive support for Big Switch Networks’ software-defined networking solutions across Australia.
“Orca Tech is a nimble distributor with serious credentials in cyber security and monitoring,” Big Switch Networks Australia and New Zealand managing director Steve Coad said. “The company has quickly become the distributor of choice for next-generation, software-driven companies like Big Switch Networks.”
Orca Tech joins Sapply and Newgen Systems, making Orca tech the third distributor in Australia.
